Betty D. Byrd, 80, of Wadsworth passed away Friday October 14, 2011, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Born in Akron, Ohio on November 30, 1930 to the late Robert and Nannie Melton. Betty was known for her warmth and compassion. She loved her family and her cats more than words can describe. Betty enjoyed traveling, cooking and was famous for her apple pies. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, son Ricky Lee, granddaughter Sandra Weaver, brothers Paula Lee, Harice, and Ralph Melton, sisters Velma Bowen and Clara Arnold.

She is survived by her daughters; Karen (Tim) Shivley of Norton, and Betty Weaver of TX, her sister Marlene Bowling of Norton, grandsons Rick, David and Joe all of Akron, Jim Weaver of OK, and granddaughter Darlene Varney of Akron. There are also 14 great-grandchildren also surviving.

The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Monday October 17 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home,174 N Lyman St., Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted 11AM Tuesday with Rev. Dennis Woodruff officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
