Betty Louise Coon, 86, of Wadsworth, passed away Sunday May 8, 2011. She was born on November 21, 1924 in Copley, OH to the late Casper and Catherine Schweigert. Mrs. Coon was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was a former secretary for the Wadsworth City Schools. She loved to cook, bake, enjoyed her grandchildren and was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavaliers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Coon in 1993, and her siblings Ruth Brown, Helen Kocsis, Thomas Schweigert and Florence Watson.
Betty is survived by her children Thomas (Judy) Coon of Parma, Barbara (Jay) Couch of Naperville, Ill and Scott (Dianne) Coon of Marysville. Beloved grandmother of Jennifer (James) Lotz, Elizabeth, Eric, Kevin, Katie and Marie Coon, one great grandson Jonah Lotz and two brothers Harold Schweigert of Seattle and Gerald Schweigert of Akron.
The family will receive friends 6-7PM Wednesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth and on Thursday from 10 - 11AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 146 High St., Wadsworth where funeral services be conducted at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ann Paynter and James Lotz officiating. Interment will be in Copley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wadsworth High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, 557 Broad St., Wadsworth, OH 44281.
