Helen L. Harding Ellis, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Born January 7, 1932 to the late William and Virginia Harding of West Palm Beach, FL.
Helen served her country as an Airman in the United States Navy stationed at Jax Naval Base in Jacksonville, Florida. Helen trained pilots using the link trainer. Helen's civilian employment included working for Rockwell Corporation of Barberton, Mueller Packaging Corporation of Seville, and she retired after 22 years with the State of Ohio, Division of the Ohio State Patrol.
In retirement Helen enjoyed her grandchildren, overseeing a fundraising Bingo game for the Lodi American Legion and visiting with her many friends at the Bower's farm produce stand.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Bobby J. Ellis and sister JoAnn Schaad of Wooster, OH.
Survived by brother Gerald Harding of Phoenix, AZ, five children; Robert Keefer of Kuwait, Terri Myers (Roger) of Left Hand, WV, Lynda Bowers (Ed) of Medina, OH, Robert Ellis (Lori), and Alfred Ellis (Barbara) of Seville, OH, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1:30-3:30 PM Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, followed by a private graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Lodi American Legion or the HANDS Foundation of Medina.
