Laurence William Fligor (Larry) died on July 11, 2010 after having Carcinoid cancer for nine years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, pharmacist, entrepreneur, community leader and friend. He was compassionate, provided hope for the ill and built a business with integrity.
As a community leader, he was passionate about the Wadsworth Public Library and served on their board for 21 years. He was also a member of the Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital Board of Trustees and a board member of Hospice of Medina County. As a board member of Hospice, he helped to promote the new hospice center that will be built in Medina. As a member of the Lutheran Church since birth, he had been very involved in Grace Lutheran Church of Wadsworth and helped to facilitate the building project of a new fellowship hall for the church. He was a charter member of leadership Medina County, served on their board and promoted local businesses.
Larry started his career as a retail pharmacist and always enjoyed working with people and helping them understand their medications. He later joined with the Ritzman brothers and Eric Graf and became a partner in Ritzman Pharmacies. He worked very hard on building the business and took pride in the pharmacies.
Larry was proceeded in death by his sister, Deborah and parents Melba and Jack Fligor. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Tana. They spent an amazing time together because they loved each other so much. He is survived by his two children Anne (Dan Sauri) and Andrew who believed that he was the best father ever. He is also survived by his sister, Cecilia Krull and brother Richard Fligor (Kathy) and many nieces and nephews. Finally, he is survived by his granddaughter Ella, who gave him hope and joy during his illness.
Overall, Larry Fligor will be remembered as a builder of family, community and friends. We will miss him immeasurably.
Calling hours will be held at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home on Friday, July 16th from 4:00 to 8:00. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17th at Grace Lutheran Church at 11 am.
