Ruth "Betty" Gish, 93, of Wadsworth passed away Wednesday September 22, 2010. She was born October 22, 1916 in Akron to the late Joseph and Clara Scanlon. Betty attended Trinity United Church of Christ, was a member of F.O.E. Auxiliary #2117 for 40 years and worked for the Wadsworth City Schools as a custodian for many years. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. Betty will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by three sisters Helen Geras, Eileen Johnson, Geraldine Austin and two brothers Walter and Joseph Jr.
Betty is survived by Three daughters and sons in law Eleanora (Charles) Heller, Carol (Donald) Cole, Linda Mace and one son Donald Gish. There are 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and her sisters Mary Jane Kasner of Wadsworth, Dorothy (Will) Vargo of Yucaipa, CA and Mildred Nicholson of Fairborn, OH also surviving.
The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Village and Dr. Fracasso for the wonderful and loving care they provided. The family would also like to thank the staff of Hospice of Medina County for the wonderful and loving care they provided.
The family will receive friends 5-8PM Monday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday with Pastor Robin Hart officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Magnolia Village Activities Department or to Hospice of Medina County.
