Dorothy G. Greive, 99, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2010 to be with her Lord and Savior following a long illness. She was born November 24, 1910 in Cleveland to the late Henry and Minnie Groene.
She is joined in heaven with her husband Edward, with whom she had celebrated 32 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Dorothy is survived by her sons Gary and Edward, daughter-in-law Carol Greive, granddaughters Christina Mathiesen, Corrina Schultz; great granddaughter Claire Schultz, sister Charlotte Sommerfeld, many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was very active in church work, including being president of the Altar Guild at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, and volunteer work including the delivering of Meals on Wheels in Wadsworth for many years. She especially enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians for many years.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted11:00 AM Friday. There will also be a service on Friday at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, located at 6265 Columbia Rd. Route 252, in North Olmsted, Ohio with Pastor John Mashek officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5451 Cleveland Massillon Rd. Norton, OH 44203, to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad St. North Canfield, OH 44406, or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 163549, Columbus, OH 43216.
