Thomas E. Marrin, 76, of Wadsworth passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. He was born on January 9, 1935 in Wadsworth to the late Martin and Emma Marrin. Mr. Marrin was a graduate of Wadsworth High School class of 1954 where he was president of the class. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for 18 months. Tom loved sports, he was a pee-wee football coach for 17 years, coached little league baseball for many years, was a CYO basketball coach and coached women's softball for over 20 years and was inducted into the Wadsworth Sports Hall of Fame. He loved hosting parties in his woods, especially his Halloween Haunted Hayrides. Tom loved his family, adored his grandchildren and enjoyed working on his farm.
He was preceded in death by his brother James Marrin and sisters Catherine Bault and Alice Whitman.
Tom is survived by his wife Ruth with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage, his son Marty (Kathy) Marrin , daughters Monique (Rick) Chapman and Megan Marrin all of Wadsworth. The grandchildren he adored; Alexis, Rachel and Ellie Marrin, Jay and Nicole Chapman and Emily Gloeckler that Tom considered his adopted daughter. There is one sister Ger Paul of Wadsworth. There are many brothers and sisters in law and a host of nieces and nephews also surviving.
The family will receive friends 2-8PM Sunday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday with Pastor Mike Cunningham officiating. Interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
