Edward J. Valentine, 87 of Wadsworth passed away October 30, 2010. Born in North Royalton, Ohio on March 6, 1923 to the late Cyprian and Anna (Kyselica) Valentine. Edward graduated from North Royalton High School and served in the US Navy during WWII, owned Construction Contractors, Corp., then farmed in Wadsworth for more than 40 years, served as a 4H advisor; teaching tractor safety and an advisor for the Beef Club.Ed was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and had been chosen as the Farmer Of TheYear of Northest Ohio.. He was a Director for the Medina County Fair and in 2009 received the honor of being selected as the Outstanding Fair Board Member for the State of Ohio.
Edward is survived by his wife of 62 years Lois (nee Bacha), their children; Cheryl Valentine, Wayne (Misty) Valentine, Donna Valentine, Dale Valentine and Debbie (Tom) Indoe. There are four grandchildren; Jennifer, Brad, Megan and Russell, four great grandchildren Austin, Aiden, Alex and Colton; one brother Frank (Ruby) Valentine and sisters Sue (Bob) Gregg and Frances (Earl) Cortright, along with many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Agnes and William Marenick.
The family will receive friends 4-8 PM Tuesday November 2, 2010 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday. Internment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
